6 advantages why you should start with telemetry
Inventory management. For most of our customers, inventory management is not the most fun job out there. It is also a precise job, because you have to order the right product in the right quantity. Nowadays it should be easier to manage your stock, but ‘automatic stock management’ sounds complicated, doesn’t it? In this blog, we will explain why telemetry is essential to make your stock management easier.
Smart inventory managementTelemetry at the heart of automatic stock management
Telemetry is nothing more than transmitting data, such as your stock consumption, using a sensor. In case of our products, we place a sensor with a bracket above the packaging of 200 litres or more (drum, IBC or Varibox) or a bulk tank. When the order and/or alarm level has been reached we will receive a signal. Then we ask for confirmation of the order quantity, so that we can manufacture the product. Once produced, we deliver the product and often pump the product into the tank or package as well.
What are the advantages of stock management via sensors?
Stock management via sensors has several advantages:
- You and your supplier always have insight into your stock level
- The ordering moment is signaled in time
- You have digital insight into your purchase pattern
- Fewer errors in orders by preventing manual ordering errors
- Less (stock) costs, because the order only takes place when you need the product
- Less corrections and less rush orders, in short less worries
Getting started with telemetry in 2 steps
With all these advantages in a row, it doesn’t surprise us that more and more customers start using telemetry for our chemical products, cheese coating and salt. Also because the commissioning of telemetry is done in two steps:
- We visit your organisation and you can indicate the products of which you want to measure the stock digitally. During the visit, you can immediately indicate which parameters are important to set in our software.
- A sensor is installed in or on the packaging(s). The telemetry is set with an order level and an alarm level. These level signals can be sent to anyone with access to the program
Now that the sensor is installed, you can experience the benefits of telemetry:
When we receive an order signal, we produce and prepare the required product for shipment.
Once produced, we transport the product to you and pump it into the bulk tank or place it in the drum, IBC or Varibox.
